Level 2 - Ball Striking Principles
The moment of truth. Control what happens here and you will be great!
Level 1 is about how to move the club in the most efficient manner. It varies from person to person and if you have watched enough professionals, you will see that the how of moving the club can done in any manner.
Level 2 is not as individualistic and must be mastered before the game can be mastered. Level 2 contains the basic OBJECTIVES of the swing to generate a golf SHOT. It is about the skills that need to be understood for cause and effect. These rely on physics and are not negotiable.
Principle 4 - Point of Contact - how you interact with the turf determines the quality of your shot. The ability to consistently strike the ground in the same place allows for the ability to have consistent flight and distance. This is THE most important skill for successful golf.
Principle 5 - Path – finding the proper directional control is a balance between swing path and clubface control. There is no perfect shape, only a match of the clubface direction with your swing. Learning to know what your perfect match is will allow you the confidence to hone this very important skill that will allow you to find your way around the course.
Principle 6 - Power – creating and KNOWING your power/distance ability is critical to playing golf well. Striving for distance but not taking care of the other skills leaves for a lot of time in the water and woods. Power is a variable that must be considered in order to move the ball the correct distance each shot.
These three fundamentals are the skills required to manage your ball around the course. If you become proficient at these, you will have an easier time navigating the course successfully. But remember, these skills determine how far you can take your Level 1 Swing Motion.
